The style of government of Maeron closely resembles a Representative Imperial society where there exists a hereditary Imperial Lord balanced by an elected Senate.  The Senators are elected by Electori, Nobles chosen to be a part of the Electori College after a general election of the civilians and citizens.

The Emperor of Maeron is invested with his power, not by the Gods as was the case with the kings of old, but with the will of the people. He is the Supreme authority by which all other authorities are derived. Only the Emperor may authorize the minting of currency, sign laws into effect for the whole Empire, or annex new lands into the Empire.

Within the Senate, they hold elections for the two Consuls of the Maeron Senate, who, with their Vice Consuls act as the will of the people. The Consul of Defense is invested with the power to marshal any and all of Maeron's military, while the Consul State is invested with the power to levy taxes and govern the Empire as needed. They answer only to the Emperor, but come an election, they may be removed by vote of the Senate.

Electori are Maeron Citizens who have been voted into office in a general election of their regional Civilians and Citizens.

The noble ruling class can trace their lineages back to the original Kings and Lords of Maeron, before the landing of the Elves.
